Compliance is at the heart of everyday business and a top priority area for Nordea. In Business Risk Implementation and Support in Personal Banking ( BRIS PeB) we are looking for business minded Regulatory Experts with a legal degree, to provide analyses of regulations affecting the business areas in the Nordic jurisdictions, and assess the impact on the business.

We offer you the opportunity to develop your experience with legislation and work with legal matters in a business focused perspective, while gaining a valuable understanding of business and operational functions across Personal Banking.

The position we offer

BRIS is a unit within 1st Line of Defence established to bolster our capabilities in the management of non-financial business risk. We have recently established a dedicated BRIS Personal Banking (PeB) Team. Personal Banking serves Nordea’s 10 million household customers. The business area includes advisory and service staff, channels and product units under a common strategy, operating model and governance across markets.

BRIS has a clear target to help execute on the compliance agenda for PeB whilst keeping efficiency and great customer experience in mind.

We invite you to bring your legal and regulatory expertise and great stakeholder management skills to an exciting role where you will work closely with the two other teams in BRIS PeB as well as with the Business Risk Managers in the PeB Divisions.

You will be a key player in BRIS Regulatory Implementation, and this means you will be responsible for:

Ensuring compliance with regulations affecting Personal Banking in a Nordic perspective.

Identifying new regulation on national and EU level.

Analysing new regulation and assessing its impact on the business.

Informing stakeholders and delivering presentations on the new regulation and its impact.

Participating in regulatory implementation projects and supporting implementation in an efficient and both business and customer friendly way.

Coordinating the regulatory work between different stakeholders in business and group functions.

You will be interfacing with many different stakeholders across all layers and countries of the organisation. It is important that you are able to engage and motivate people on supporting the compliance agenda.

You will be employed in one of the Nordic capitals and you will join an international team that works across borders. The position will require some travelling between the Nordic offices.

The qualifications you need

We are offering a position where you can bring your legal expertise and your stakeholder management skills fully into play.

For your role the following qualifications apply:

A solid understanding of the financial industry and its regulatory environment.

At least three years of relevant job experience.

Able to communicate complex regulation in a clear and understandable way

You are also known for your great collaboration skills and stakeholder management skills.

In terms of personal qualities, we expect that you:

Are result-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a good analytical tool box.

Have strong personal drive and a high level of engagement

Thrive in a dynamic environment.

Are structured and possess the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

Other professional skills:

Master’s degree in law, business law, or equivalent

Professional communication skills in written and spoken English

Experience in regulatory implementation, compliance or operational risk work is meriting.
